Patient Experience at Ashley: Your Journey in Addiction Treatment
From the moment you arrive at Ashleyโs main campus in Havre de Grace, Maryland, our team will welcome you and take care of the logistics so you can focus on healing.ย
Your patient journey begins with a compassionate admissions process. An intake coordinator will walk you through everything to expect through the admissions process, answer questions, and help you settle in. During treatment, youโll experience a structured yet nurturing routine: therapy sessions, medical check-ins, wellness activities like yoga or meditation, nutritious meals, and time for rest in our peaceful facilities.
Throughout this journey, you are never alone; our staff and your peers form a community of support. As you prepare to leave treatment, we ensure you have an aftercare plan and connections (like alumni support or outpatient services) to continue guiding you. This full-circle approach to the patient experience means youโre supported every step of the way toward lifelong recovery
From Intake to Treatment
- Admissions and Welcome: When you reach out, our admissions team (available 24/7) will answer your questions and guide you through a simple, compassionate intake process. Upon arrival, youโll be welcomed by staff who get you settled in. Theyโll show you around our campus, introduce you to peers and staff, and make sure you have everything you need (and yes, weโll let you know what to bring or not bring ahead of time). Any initial medical needs, like detox, will be handled with the utmost care and monitoring for your comfort and safety.
- During Treatment: Each day has a structured schedule balancing therapy, wellness, and rest: all focused on your recovery. Mornings might start with a healthy breakfast and a mindfulness exercise. Youโll participate in individual counseling and group therapy sessions where you can share and learn in a supportive environment. Thereโs time for physical activity (perhaps yoga or a walk on our scenic grounds), and youโll enjoy nutritious meals prepared by our culinary team to assist in physical recovery and maintenance. Afternoons might include workshops (for example, learning relapse prevention skills or practicing coping techniques) as well as medical check-ins. Throughout, our team keeps you engaged in your recovery journey and tailors the program to your progress.
- Community and Support: Youโll be part of the Ashley community , connecting with others who understand what youโre going through. Many patients form deep bonds in group therapy or recreational activities. We also offer family therapy options, because we know recovery involves your loved ones too. This sense of community helps you remember youโre not alone and builds a support network that can last after you leave.
- Preparing for Life After Ashley: As your time in our inpatient program nears its end, weโll help plan the next steps. This might mean stepping down to our outpatient program, joining The Clubhouse, or simply connecting you with support groups and alumni in your home area. We ensure you have a continuum of careโa clear plan so you feel confident leaving campus. Graduation from Ashley is a celebration; youโll leave with new tools, a stronger, healthier you, and the knowledge that our doors are always open if you need continued support.
