Sober Living Options

For someone in early addiction recovery, a sober living home can provide a supportive environment. Perhaps you’re unsure exactly what this type of living arrangement is. Learning more can help you decide if it’s right for you.

What To Expect When Living at a Halfway House

Happy Woman on a Bench Who Continued Sobriety at a Sober Living HomeTransitioning to a sober living arrangement is often the ideal next step for a person who has recently graduated from an inpatient rehab facility like Ashley Addiction Treatment. It can also supplement an intensive outpatient program. The people you live with will most likely be in early recovery. Living with like-minded sober peers can help when times get tough.

Living in a halfway home involves less structure than a residential addiction treatment center. However, it provides you with much more support than you might get in your home environment. In addition to finding or maintaining a job or going to school, you’re also expected to regularly attend 12-Step or other recovery support meetings.

In addition, you must totally refrain from all drugs and alcohol. You’ll also be subjected to random drug testing, do various household chores, and adhere to a curfew. Administrators will make the house rules clear when you first move in. The length of your stay depends on your individual case. However, most people reside in halfway houses for nine months to a year before transitioning fully into their home environment.

Optimizing Your Chances of Recovery Success

While residing in a halfway house can be a vital bridge as you transition back to your home, lasting recovery is more likely if you combine it with other substance abuse programs. Located in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Ashley Addiction Treatment is here to offer support with innovative, integrated, and holistic approaches to drug therapy. Our caring, empathetic admissions counselors will determine which of our gold standard programs can best promote lasting healing.

We offer:

  • Medically supervised detox on site
  • Primary Program that gives you the time and space to understand your addiction, set goals, participate in therapy and begin your recovery
  • Intensive outpatient program allowing you to reside at home or in a sober living setting while still receiving substance abuse treatment and therapy
  • Evidence-based individual and group therapy and access to 12-Step meetings
  • Holistic healing including acupuncture, yoga, massage, fitness, and nutrition counseling

Successful addiction recovery is a complex puzzle. Many pieces need to fit together in order to experience lasting success, and residing in a halfway house may be one of them for you. Let Ashley Addiction Treatment help you to heal as you put these elements together in your own unique way. Call us today at 866-313-6307.
