Ashley Addiction Treatment Sets Sights on Reducing Relapse

October 31, 2019 by Ashley Addiction Treatment

Launches Program for High-Risk Patients

Partial Hospitalization Program bridges gap between outpatient and inpatient services for greater recovery success

Havre de Grace, Md. (October 2, 2019) — Ashley Addiction Treatment (Ashley), one of the world’s most recognizable and respected names in the substance use disorder treatment industry, is excited to announce the availability of its first-ever Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). The new program, which is now being offered at its outpatient treatment program facility in Elkton, will offer a mix of outpatient and inpatient treatment services to lower chances of relapse and increase the likelihood of successful recovery among patients.

“For those struggling with addiction, recovery can sometimes seem like a losing battle,” said Dr. J. Gregory Hobelmann, chief medical officer at Ashley. “We work diligently to identify new strategies and programs that fit our patients’ needs and lifestyles so they have every possible opportunity for success and see that long-term recovery is possible.”

Through independent research, medical experts at Ashley identified a need within the community for a more individualized recovery solution that bridged the structure of inpatient residential treatment with the flexibility of an outpatient program. With the PHP level of care, patients who are either considered high-risk for relapse, transitioning from an inpatient to an outpatient program or unable to commit to an intensive inpatient schedule due to family and home responsibilities will now have access to an additional option, significantly reducing chances for relapse. Patients enrolled in the program will receive more than 20 hours of individualized treatment per week including case management, group therapy and medical visits with a nurse practitioner.

“We launched this program on the idea that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to recovery,” said Alex Denstman, vice president of business development at Ashley. “Through this integrated program and future ones like it, our goal is to better equip our patients with the tools they need, no matter what hurdles they’re facing.”

In addition to PHP, Ashley’s full range of treatment services includes Outpatient Services (OP), Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP) and Medical Supported Recovery™ (MSR). Ashley’s outpatient facility in Elkton is the first of its three locations to offer the PHP. The nonprofit also plans to extend the new program to its Bel Air location before the end of the year.
