Small thanks. Big shifts.
This November, we’re starting something that lasts all year.
Gratitude changes how we see recovery — and how recovery sees us. Starting with 30 days of gratitude lists, we’re building a full year of simple, meaningful ways to notice what matters. One list. One step. One story. One gift.
Choose the way that feels right for you — then invite someone else in.
Three Ways to Join
Choose what fits you — every action moves the year forward.
Warning: side effects of gratitude may include smiling more.

November’s Theme: 30 Days of Gratitude
Gratitude is a practice, and practice takes repetition. This November, commit to a daily gratitude list or journal entry. Some days it might be a milestone. Other days it might be a good cup of coffee or a call from a friend. Every entry counts.
The Year Ahead
November – Daily Gratitude
Build a daily gratitude habit. Each day, take a moment to write down or reflect on something you’re thankful for.
December – Gratitude in Action
Turn thanks into kindness. This season, pay it forward with small acts of service for the people and community around you.
January – Gratitude Reset
Skip the resolutions. Instead of asking what you want to change, celebrate what’s already working in your life and worth keeping.
February – Gratitude for People
Tell someone why they matter. Write a note, give a shoutout, or thank a mentor, friend, or support person who has made a difference.
March – Gratitude in Motion
Get moving and reflect along the way. Take a gratitude walk or join our step challenge, pairing fresh air with a moment of thanks.
April – Gratitude for Growth
Spring is a season of change. Look back on how you’ve grown this year and celebrate the progress you’ve made.
May – Gratitude for Self
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, show yourself some appreciation. Recognize your strength, resilience, and the ways you care for yourself.
June – Gratitude for Community
No one gets here alone. Celebrate the people and communities who helped you along the way and give them a shoutout.
July – Gratitude for Rest
Recharge and take care of yourself. Reflect on the moments of rest and renewal that help you show up as your best self.
August – Gratitude for Lessons
Some of our greatest lessons come from hard times. Reflect on a challenge that taught you something valuable.
September – Gratitude for Milestones
National Recovery Month is a time to celebrate every step forward. Share your milestones, big or small, and honor how far you’ve come.
October – Gratitude for the Journey
As the year comes full circle, look back on what you’ve reflected on and shared since November, and celebrate the journey that brought you here.
Give Back
Share Your Experience
Gratitude often shows up in the stories we tell. By sharing your experience at Ashley, you can help someone who’s searching for help take that first step, and give us valuable insight into what matters most to our patients and families.
Color Your Leaves Of Gratitude
Created for kids, families, educators, community groups, and child-serving professionals and organizations.
Children are invited to design and color Ashley’s leaves as a symbol of growth, renewal, and
the people who help us heal. Completed leaves can be shared with Ashley to be featured in
our A Year of Gratitude campaign. It’s a gentle way for families to pause together and notice
what they’re thankful for.
- Download the worksheet.
- Design and color your leaf.
