Rebecca Flood 
CEO of New Directions for Women

In her nearly four decades of experience in the healthcare industry, Rebecca J. Flood has demonstrated expertise in the addiction treatment field, first as Vice President of Treatment Services at Seabrook House in New Jersey. As CEO of New Directions for Women since 2004, her expertise has been used exclusively for issues relating to women of all ages, pregnant women in any trimester, and women with dependent children affected by addiction. Becky attended Johns Hopkins University and obtained her Master of Human Services from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. She is certified as a drug and alcohol counselor in California, Delaware, and New Jersey among other credentials. She is also an active board member of several treatment organizations.

Susan Cheever is an acclaimed bestselling author whose fifteen published books and dozens of essays have built on the brilliant legacy of her father, the novelist and short story writer John Cheever. Her latest book, about American history as seen through the lens of alcoholism, Drinking in America, Our Secret History, was released in October of 2015. She has written for many magazines and newspapers including The New Yorker, The New York Times and Newsday where she contributed to winning a 1997 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news. Susan has also taught at Yale, Brown University, The New School, and Bennington.
